Fairmont Orchid

Fairmont Orchid is a AAA Four Diamond resort, resting on 32 stunning oceanfront acres. Staying true to its namesake, the resort features orchids of all varieties located in the beautiful landscape installments all over the property. The orchids have strong scents, giving off a sweet perfume-like aroma that can be smelled throughout the resort grounds. When you arrive at this brilliant Hawaiian resort, you will be greeted by the attentive staff with beautiful leis made from orchid flowers and kukui nuts. After check-in, we encourage you to explore the resort and soak up all of the radiant beauty it has to offer. The smaller footprint of this oceanfront resort allows for the guests to have a more intimate experience. If you find yourselves famished, go try out a few of the high-quality restaurants conveniently located on the resort grounds. Our favorite restaurants include Binchotan. The food is phenomenal Binchotan Food and so are their drinks, Binchotan Drinks. Additionally, we highly recommend Brown’s Beach House. We suggest calling ahead to both restaurants for a reservation!

We at Big Island Reviews love a grand pool! The 10,000 sqft resort style pool is enormous, with an adult only section for those that want some peace and quiet. Fun fact: The pool is heated, and open 24/7, so if you want to go for a late night dip, go for it! After your nighttime swim, bundle up next to one of the fire pits located towards the back of the property overlooking the ocean. The fire pits are surrounded by spacious adirondack chairs that are perfect to get comfy in and cozy next to the roaring fire. This is truly a special moment to just lay back and relax to the sound of the waves gently crashing on the shore.

Want to enjoy a beautiful white sand beach close to the hotel? There is a beach on property making it convenient for you and your family to enjoy paradise and not have to go anywhere. Be sure to stop by Brown’s Deli (by the pool) on the way to the beach for some takeout food: breakfast, fresh salads, meaty lunch sandwiches or savory pizzas. If you are looking for a more secluded place to enjoy your meal, there are pleasant nooks located throughout the property that you can relax at and literally feel the stressors of everyday life vanish.

The spa located at Fairmont Orchid is unique in that all of the private massage areas do not have walls, yet are open and invite nature in. This euphoric experience is heightened due to the soothing sounds of trickling water or the feel of the ocean breeze on your skin. There are 8 private waterfall huts, 6 oceanfront cabanas and three indoor treatment rooms for you to choose from! This award-winning spa is sure to be a huge hit with loved ones, and can  help you to relax.

Depending what time of the year it is, the resort runs specials for kamaʻāina. Kamaʻāina also receive a 10% discount at all bars and restaurants located on the resort property.

While visiting the Fairmont Orchid, be sure to explore all of the Kohala Adventures that the coast and Kona have to offer! We love the Fairmont Orchid, and hope that your experiences are as wonderful as ours have been. When checking in, be sure to let them know Big Island Reviews says aloha.
